Dear fencing friends and families,
We are starting an ongoing Youth 14(ish) Competitive-Recreational class on Tuesdays at 5pm. Head Coach Ilya Lobanenkov will teach the class.
This class is for newer kids who have had at least an intro session or camp, or have previous fencing experience and want to turn it up just a notch from a Recreational class alone. It pairs well with a private lesson. Great way to explore what the sport has to offer. All equipment will still be provided, but we encourage at least a weapon and glove is purchased.
Our expectations for this class is that you know the basics of technique and fencing life. On guard position, step forward, step back, lunge, recover for technique. As to "fencing life" we expect you to be able to change into full gear in five minutes or less and referee a bout.
