Elite Pre-Season

Service Description

With our new much larger facility, the camp is open to all fencers with at least one season on the USA Fencing Competitive circuit. We will be grouping everyone accordingly, from year one youth to Nationally and Regionally ranked athletes. Coaching staff: Sandro Cuomo: Olympic Gold Medalist, Italian National Team coach of many years, with an immeasurable contribution to podium appearances at the Olympic Games, World Cups and World Championships across all age categories. Sandro is a developer the famous La Ginnastica per la scherma system of athletic preparation for fencing which has since been modernized and adjusted to fit the needs of our campers. Sandro's style with a smile is legendary and he is happy to work with all ages and skill levels to instill a lifelong love for the sport. Valerio Cuomo: World Cup Gold Medalist among many international podiums at the Senior and Junior level. Valerio brings a wonderful energy to the room and is a master at demonstrating actions and exercises at full speed then breaking them down as appropriate for his students. He will be fencing and giving lessons in white as an athlete as well. Fabrizio Cuomo: Multiple International podium appearances at the Junior level. More wonderful energy, French Grip style. Fabrizio will also join the ranks as an athlete and Coach in White. Luigi Mazzone: Italian National Champion and Team Sports Psychologist. Professor of Child Psychology and Development. (Research Gate) Coach Ilya and Luigi have a long friendship dating back to a serendipitous encounter while working at the National Institutes of Health. Luigi's style of fencing had a great influence on the techniques taught at CFA and he is a joy to watch both as a coach and an athlete. He will be running mental game sessions for all ages. Cardinal Fencing Academy Coaches Ilya, Doug and Konstantin will be on site as well. 9am to 4pm with before and after care available on request. Before and aftercare available at $40/hour on request.
