After the cancellation of the 2020 World Championships and the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics, the world of sport is coming back to life.
Sterling, VA fencer Michaela Joyce locked her spot on the 17 and Under and the 20 and Under team to represent Team USA at World Championships held in Cairo, Egypt April 6th through 12th. Michaela trains at the Cardinal Fencing Academy in Sterling, VA and is a Junior at Madeira High School.
The FIE (International Fencing Federation) World Championships are held every year and the top four athletes from each country compete for the title of World Champion in individual and team relay events.
